NEET (UG) – 2024: It’s Time to Challenge the Answer Key and OMR Answer Sheet

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has conducted the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG) – 2024 on 5th May 2024 for over 24 lakh candidates across 4750 centres in 571 cities, including 14 international locations.

As the next step, the NTA has released the Provisional Answer Keys, Scanned Images of OMR Answer Sheets, and Recorded Responses. 

Candidates can now challenge these provisional results if they believe there are discrepancies.

Key Dates and Details

  • Start Date for Challenges: 29th May 2024
  • End Date for Challenges: 31st May 2024 (up to 11:50 P.M.)
  • Processing Fee: ₹200/- per answer or question challenged (non-refundable)

Steps to Challenge the Answer Key

  1. Visit the NTA NEET Website: Go to https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET
  2. Login: Click on ‘Apply for Answer Key Challenge(s)’ and log in using your Application Number and Date of Birth.
  3. Select Test Booklet Code: Choose your Test Booklet Code.
  4. Challenge Questions: You will see the questions in sequential order. The number next to each question in the ‘Correct Option’ column indicates the answer key used by the NTA.
  5. Select Your Option: If you wish to challenge the given answer, click on the check box next to one of the four options.
  6. Upload Supporting Documents: You may upload supporting documents in a single PDF file by selecting ‘Choose File’.
  7. Save and Pay: Click ‘Save your Claim’ and move to the next screen. Verify your challenges, then click ‘Save your Claim and Pay Fee Finally’.
  8. Payment: Choose the mode of payment (Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking) and pay the processing fee. After successful payment, download and print the receipt for your records.

Here’s How You Can Challenge the OMR Answer Sheet and Recorded Responses

  1. Visit the NTA NEET Website: Go to https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET
  2. Login: Use your Application Number and Date of Birth.
  3. OMR Challenge: Click on the ‘OMR Challenge’ link.
  4. Select Questions: The questions will be displayed in sequential order. The ‘Captured Response as per OMR Sheet’ column shows your recorded answers.
  5. Challenge Recorded Response: Select the question you wish to challenge and choose from the options in the ‘Candidate’s Claim’ column.
  6. Submit and Pay: After selecting your desired options, click ‘Submit’ and proceed to the payment screen.
  7. Payment: Pay the processing fee of ₹200/- per question challenged via Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking. Download and print the receipt after successful payment.

Important Notes

  • Challenges submitted without the processing fee will not be considered.
  • The challenges will be reviewed by a panel of subject experts. If a challenge is accepted, the answer key will be revised and the results will be updated accordingly.
  • Candidates will not receive individual notifications regarding the acceptance or rejection of their challenges.
  • The final answer key, as determined by the experts, will be used to prepare and declare the results.
