Why did the MHT CET aspirant bring a ladder to the exam?
Because they heard the syllabus was through the roof this year!
Don't worry, though—while the syllabus might seem a bit overwhelming, we're here to help you climb your way to cracking the exam! Let's break it down together!
MHT CET 2025 is approaching fast, and if you’re on the path to excel in the exam, it’s crucial to understand the syllabus and marking scheme inside out. Whether you’re preparing for Engineering, Pharmacy, or even the Integrated M.Tech programs, this blog will break down everything you need to know!
MHT CET 2025 will be based on the curriculum set by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Maharashtra. The syllabus will cover both Std. 11 and Std. 12 subjects, with a greater focus on Std. 12. In fact, about 80% of the questions will come from your Std. 12 syllabus, while the remaining 20% will be from your Std. 11 syllabus. So, make sure you're equally prepared for both years of study!
Important Things to Remember: There’s no Negative Marking—Good news! You won’t lose marks for incorrect answers. The difficulty matches JEE (Main) for Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, and NEET for Biology, with mainly application-based questions. So be prepared for a challenge.
The MHT CET includes three MCQ-based papers, each carrying 100 marks:
Each paper is designed to be completed in 90 minutes, with questions primarily covering Std. 11 (10 marks) and Std. 12 (40 marks). Mathematics questions are worth 2 marks each, while questions in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are worth 1 mark each.
It will cover the full Std. 12 syllabus and selected topics from Std. 11 as outlined by Maharashtra’s SCERT. Here’s a quick look at key Std. 11 chapters to focus on:
Physics: Includes Vectors, Error Analysis, Motion in Plane, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Thermal Properties of Matter, Sound, Optics, Electrostatics, and Semiconductors.
Chemistry: Topics like Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding, Redox Reactions, Elements of Group 1 and 2, States of Matter (Gaseous and Liquids), Adsorption and Colloids (Surface Chemistry), Hydrocarbons, Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, and Chemistry in Everyday Life.
Mathematics: Focus areas are Trigonometry II, Straight Line, Circle, Probability, Complex Numbers, Permutations and Combinations, Functions, Limits, Continuity, and Conic Sections.
Biology: Covers Biomolecules, Respiration and Energy Transfer, Human Nutrition, and Excretion and Osmoregulation.
Make sure to cover both Std. 11 and 12 content for a comprehensive preparation!
With this road map in hand, you're all set to tackle MHT CET 2025! Keep practising, stay consistent, and approach the exam with confidence. You've got this!
Stay tuned for more tips and tricks to ace your MHT CET!
