Attention NEET aspirants!
The much-anticipated revised results for NEET UG 2024 have been released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on July 26.
The number of top-rank holders has sharply dropped from 61 to just 17, marking a dramatic shift in the NEET UG 2024 results.
Read on to find out all the details about these revised results and what you need to do next.
In the revised results, only 17 candidates have secured the top rank compared to the previously announced 61 candidates. Initially, 67 candidates had achieved a perfect score of 720, but this number was first reduced to 61 after the removal of grace marks. Following further scrutiny by an expert panel from IIT-Delhi, it was determined that a controversial Physics question had only one correct answer instead of two, leading to a re-tally of the scores.
The Supreme Court directed the NTA to follow the IIT-Delhi’s recommendation regarding the Physics question. The top court accepted the expert report and ordered the NTA to re-tally the NEET UG results based on the correct answer, resulting in the reduction of top-rank holders to 17.
The revised cut-off scores have also been adjusted. For general category candidates, the cut-off has decreased from the previous range of 720-164 to 720-162. Here are the revised cut-off scores for various categories:
