The MHT-CET 2024 has stirred up quite a buzz!
The State CET has received over 1,400 objections from students and parents regarding the validity of exam questions in the MHT-CET 2024.
The majority of the objections have been raised against the physics-chemistry-mathematics (PCM) sets of the exam. The MHT-CET 2024 exam was conducted over a span of 15 days, covering both PCB (physics-chemistry-biology) and PCM sections. Specific grievances have emerged, particularly in the chemistry section.
A concerned parent of an engineering aspirant reported an instance from the second shift of the exam on May 15. According to the parent, all the given options for a particular chemistry question (ID: 812815) were incorrect. The answer key provided by the CET cell listed the correct answer as 953136, which, according to the parent, was not the right option.
Another parent highlighted similar issues in the chemistry section on May 9 and 16. On May 16, a question asked candidates to identify the largest-sized nanomaterial from a given list. The CET cell's answer key indicated 954892 (bacteria) as the correct answer. However, after consulting a chemistry teacher, the parent claimed that the correct answer should have been 954891 (virus).
In response to the objections, a CET cell official stated that all objections were thoroughly reviewed by a team of subject experts. Out of the 1,400 objections received, 54 questions were deemed valid and were accepted. The official noted that the MHT-CET exam spanned 30 sessions and included a total of 5,100 questions across all sections.
The CET cell released a statement emphasising that no further communication on the objections would be entertained.
Students who took the MHT-CET should keep an eye on the official MHT-CET website for any updates on the scoring process or a potential rescore.
The MHT-CET is a pivotal exam for many aspiring engineers and pharmacists in Maharashtra, and ensuring its accuracy and fairness is crucial. The proactive response by the CET Cell to address valid objections demonstrates a commitment to maintaining the exam's integrity. As results approach, we extend our best wishes to all candidates. Remember, challenges are part of the journey, and your hard work and dedication will pave the way for a bright future. Keep pushing forward with confidence, knowing that your efforts will lead to success. Stay focused on your goals and continue to strive for excellence.
