NCERT Set for New Textbooks for CBSE Classes 3 and 6!

Education serves as the key that unlocks the doors to endless possibilities. And as the education world evolves it is important to stay abreast of the latest developments.

With this idea in mind, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has shared some interesting updates about what's coming up for the school year 2024-25.

The CBSE Board has released a notice which provides important information regarding the Secondary and Senior School Curriculum for the academic session 2024-25, along with updates on new textbooks to be published by NCERT for classes 3 and 6.

1. BSE's provision of the annual curriculum for classes 9 to 12, encompassing academic content, syllabi for examinations, pedagogical practises, and assessment guidelines.
2. Emphasis on the necessity for schools to follow the curriculum directives outlined by CBSE, incorporating methodologies such as Multilingualism, Art-Integrated Education, Experiential Learning, and Pedagogical Plans.
3. Recommendation for schools to align their practises with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education - 2023 (NCF-SE-2023), including adherence to guidelines concerning content, pedagogical strategies, assessment methodologies, and other pertinent areas.
4. NCERT has informed the CBSE Board regarding the development of new syllabi and textbooks which are soon to be released for classes 3 and 6, with advice for schools to adopt these new resources in place of textbooks published by NCERT till the year 2023. Additionally, the development of a bridge course for class 6 and concise guidelines for class 3 to facilitate a seamless transition for students to new pedagogical practises aligned with NCF-SE 2023.
5. Confirmation that there will be no change in the curriculum and textbooks for other classes for the academic year 2024-25 commencing from April 1, 2024.
6. Request for schools to share the Curriculum 2024-25 available on the CBSE Board website with all students and teachers.
