After months of preparation and anticipation, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the NEET UG 2024 counselling schedule on its website, mcc.nic.in.
This is your chance to secure a seat in a medical college and start your journey towards becoming a doctor.
Registrations begin in the first week of August, offering seats under the 15% All India Quota.
With crucial decisions ahead, the counselling process can seem overwhelming, but fear not!
This guide will help you navigate the NEET UG 2024 counselling process.
Date: 14 August 2024 - 21 August 2024
The first step in the counselling process is registration. Candidates need to visit the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in) and register for the counselling. The registration period will open on 14 August 2024 and close on 21 August 2024 at 12:00 noon (server time). Along with registration, candidates must also pay the required counselling fee. The payment facility will be available until 3:00 PM on 21 August 2024.
Date: 16 August 2024 - 20 August 2024
After successful registration, the next step involves filling and locking choices for preferred medical colleges and courses. This step is critical as it determines the seat allotment based on the candidate’s preferences and rank. The choice filling period will start on 16 August 2024 and end on 20 August 2024 at 11:55 PM (server time). Candidates can modify their choices multiple times during this period. However, the choices must be locked on 20 August 2024 from 4:00 PM to 11:55 PM. Once locked, no further changes can be made.
Date: 21 August 2024 - 22 August 2024
Following the choice filling and locking period, the MCC will process the seat allotment. This process involves allocating seats based on the candidates’ NEET UG ranks, choices filled, and reservation criteria. The seat allotment process will take place on 21 and 22 August 2024.
Date: 23 August 2024
The results of the seat allotment will be announced on 23 August 2024. Candidates can check their allotment status on the MCC website. Those who are allotted a seat must download the allotment letter from the website and proceed to the next step.
Date: 24 August 2024 - 29 August 2024
Candidates who receive seat allotments must report to the allotted medical college within the stipulated time frame, from 24 August 2024 to 29 August 2024. During this period, candidates need to complete the admission formalities, which include document verification and payment of the admission fee.
Date: 30 August 2024 - 31 August 2024
After the reporting period, the respective institutes will verify the data of joined candidates. This data will then be shared with the MCC for further processing. The verification and sharing of data will take place from 30 August to 31 August 2024.
In addition to the three main rounds of counselling, the MCC will conduct a stray vacancy round to fill any remaining seats. This round will be exclusively for candidates who have already registered for the counselling process but did not secure a seat in the earlier rounds. The dates and details for the stray vacancy round will be announced later.
The NEET UG 2024 counselling schedule marks a crucial phase for medical aspirants across the country. By following the outlined steps diligently and adhering to the deadlines, candidates can ensure a smooth and successful counselling experience. Stay updated with the official MCC website (mcc.nic.in) for any further announcements or changes in the schedule.
Best of luck to all the medical aspirants!
