MHT CET 2024 Important Dates and Schedule

Prepare for the MHT CET 2024 by marking your calendar for crucial dates, including online registration from January 16th to March 1st, with late registration until March 8th, and the tentative examination period from April 16th to April 30th. Let’s get into the details:

Note:

  • If you are seeking admission to First Year Engineering and Technology or B. Planning degree courses, it is imperative that you appear for the examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
  • If you wish to enroll in the First Year Pharmacy/ Pharm. D degree course, you must appear for Physics, Chemistry, and either Mathematics or Biology.
  • If you require the assistance of a scribe/writer, you will be provided with compensatory time, specifically 20 minutes per hour of examination (30 minutes for a one and a half-hour duration paper).

The application form for MHT-CET 2024 is exclusively available in online mode.

  • Information Brochure and User Manual:

The Information Brochure for MHT-CET 2024 and the User Manual for completing the online application form can be accessed on the website www.mahacet.org.

  • Downloading and Printing:

Candidates are recommended to download and print the user manual to assist in filling out the online application form.

  • Application Submission:

For submitting the online application form, you should log in to the website www.mahacet.org.

  • Procedure Details:

The user manual provides a comprehensive guide on the detailed procedure for the online submission of the application form.

  • Application Number Usage:

Candidates are advised to quote their Application Number in all future correspondences with the State CET Cell Office.

MHT-CET 2024 APPLICATION FEE PAYMENT:

Fee Payment Method:

  • The application processing fees, as outlined in the table, must be paid online or through mobile wallets.
  • Service charges, as per rules, will apply in addition to the application processing fees.

Fee Nature:

  • The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances.

Exam Fee Based on Group Selection:

  • If a candidate opts for only PCM or only PCB in the General Category, the MHT CET 2024 examination fee is Rs. 1000.
  • For Reserve Category candidates from the state of Maharashtra opting for only PCM or only PCB, the fee is Rs. 800.

Combined Group Selection Fee:

If the candidate chooses both PCM and PCB groups:

  • For General Category: Rs. 2000 as the MHT CET 2024 examination fee.
  • For Reserve Category candidates from the State of Maharashtra: Rs. 1600 as the MHT CET 2024 examination fee.

 

For Open Category Candidates residing in Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), and J & K Migrant candidates:
  1. Candidates belonging to Backward Class Categories such as SC, ST, VJ/DT-NT(A), NT(B), NT(C), NT(D), OBC, SBC, EWS, and Persons with Disability (PWD) are considered. However, this is applicable only for individuals belonging to Maharashtra State.
  2. Orphan and Transgender (Other) Candidates are also included in the eligibility criteria.

MHT CET Eligibility Criteria 2024

In order to be eligible for the MHT CET examination, you are required to have successfully completed their Class 10+2 education, meeting the minimum percentage of marks specified by the commission. Prospective candidates must have passed their 10+2 exams with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Computer Science/IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/Business Studies/Technical Vocational subject to be considered for admission to the B.E/B.Tech course. For those seeking admission to pharmacy courses, it is mandatory to have studied Physics and Chemistry, along with either Biology or Mathematics.

Maharashtra State Candidature Criteria for MHT CET 2024

Candidates are eligible to claim only one type of Maharashtra State Candidature (Type A to E), and this category is applicable to individuals holding a domicile in the state of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra State Candidature Criteria for MHT CET 2024

Candidature Type Eligibility Criteria
Type A

For First Year: -

(i) Candidates who have successfully completed the SSC, HSC, or Engineering Diploma examinations from a recognized institution within Maharashtra State;

(ii) A candidate who is either a resident of Maharashtra and/or was born in Maharashtra.

For Direct Second Year: -

  1. In the case of Engineering, eligible candidates are those who have completed their SSC or HSC and also possess a Diploma in Engineering or Technology, or a Bachelor of Science, or a Diploma of Vocation (D. Voc.), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.
  2. For Pharmacy, candidates must have passed HSC and obtained a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution in Maharashtra State.

(ii) Candidate who is either Domicile of Maharashtra and/or is born in Maharashtra.

Type B A candidate who does not belong to Type-A as mentioned earlier but has either a parent domiciled in the State of Maharashtra and holds a Domicile Certificate.
Type C A candidate not categorized under Type-A or Type-B, but with a parent employed by the Government of India or a Government of India Undertaking, who has been assigned and reported to duty in Maharashtra State prior to the deadline for submitting the Application Form for CAP.
Type D A candidate not included in the aforementioned categories of Type-A, Type-B, and Type-C, yet having a parent who is currently employed or retired from the Government of Maharashtra or a Government Undertaking in Maharashtra.
Type E

For the first year, candidates who have successfully completed the SSC and/or HSC Examination from a recognized institution situated in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or from within Maharashtra, and who are residents of the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area with Marathi as their mother tongue.

For Direct Second Year

Candidates who have passed the SSC and/or HSC Examination, as well as a Diploma in Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, D.Voc., or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution situated in the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area or within Maharashtra. Eligible candidates should be residents of the Maharashtra Karnataka Border area with Marathi as their mother tongue.

Clarification: The Maharashtra Karnataka Border Area comprises the villages officially designated by the State Government for this specific purpose.

All India Candidature

This category encompasses applicants seeking admission to engineering institutions in Maharashtra but are not residents of the state. Individuals of Indian origin are eligible to apply under this group.

Minority Candidature

Candidates from Maharashtra belonging to a specific linguistic or religious minority community, as identified by the government, are qualified under this classification.

Other State Candidature

Applicants falling within this group must possess a Domicile Certificate, Residential Certificate, and a Certificate verifying both Residence and Date of Birth, issued by an authority outside the jurisdiction of Maharashtra State. Consideration will be given to applicants from Jammu and Kashmir who are migrants under this category.

MHT CET Education Qualification

Aspirants must fulfil the educational requirements in order to apply for the exam. The below describes the educational requirements of the MHT CET exam:

BTech Applicants should have completed their 10+2 education or be in the process of completing it in 2024, having studied Physics and Mathematics, and an additional subject such as Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, IT, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or a Technical Vocational subject. Those with a diploma in engineering and technology are also eligible to apply.

General: 45%

OBC/SC/ST: 40%

BPharma Applicants should have successfully completed their Class 10+2 education with Physics and Chemistry. Additionally, eligibility for the examination requires candidates to have either Mathematics or Biology as their third subject.

General: 45%

DPharma Applicants must have cleared their Class 10+2 examinations with Physics and Chemistry, and it is necessary to have either Mathematics or Biology as the third subject to qualify for the exam. Individuals who have completed a diploma course in Pharmacy are also eligible to apply.

MHT CET Age Limit

There is no age limit to apply for the MHT CET exam. Eligibility is based on successfully completing the 10+2 education with the required subjects and attaining a minimum percentage of marks.
