CUET (UG) 2024 Exam Pattern

Note:

  • For the Academic Session 2024-25, CUET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in a Hybrid mode (Computer-Based Test (CBT) / Pen & Paper)
  • Candidates can select up to 06 (Six) subjects from all three Sections listed above.
  • In each test paper, candidates can attempt 40 out of 50 questions, while for the General Test, they can attempt 50 out of 60 questions. Overall, candidates have the option to choose 10 questions from a total of 61 subjects.
  • Candidates are advised to choose at least one language and the General Test.
  • The duration for all test papers is 45 minutes, except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and General Tests, which will be 60 minutes.
  • The examination will be held on multiple days in two or three shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject choices.
  • CUET (UG) - 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Eligibility Criteria for CUET (UG) 2024

Anyone looking to pursue an undergraduate program at a participating university can apply, as long as they meet the specific eligibility criteria set by each institution. For CUET (UG) - 2023, there's no age limit. Candidates who have completed or are in the process of completing their class 12/equivalent exams in 2023, regardless of age, are eligible to appear. Interested candidates must pass class 12 with a minimum mark of 50% for the general category and 45% for the SC/ST category. However, they must fulfill any age criteria set by the university/institution they wish to join.

Instructions to Follow Before Filling the Online Application Form

  • Candidates can apply for CUET (UG) - 2024 through the “Online” mode only on the website - https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.
  • Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application. Under no circumstances will candidates be permitted to fill out more than one application form. Strict action will be taken against any candidate found to have submitted multiple forms, even at a later stage.
  • Candidates are required to adhere strictly to the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin and on the website.
  • Failure to comply with the instructions will result in immediate disqualification.
  • It is essential for candidates to ensure that the email address and mobile number provided in the Online Application Form belong either to themselves or their parents/guardians. All communication and information will be sent by NTA via email to the registered email address or SMS to the registered mobile number only.

A Step-by-Step Guide to Apply for CUET (UG) Online

Candidates who are going to appear in CUET (UG) 2024 exam must follow the steps to complete CUET (UG) 2024 Registration and Application.

Step 1: Registration Form

Go to the official website of CUET (UG) - https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG. On the home page, candidates are required to click on 'CUET (UG) - 2024 Click Here for Registration/Login'.

On the new page, click on 'New Candidate Register Here'. It will lead to the instructions page, which must be read carefully.

During CUET (UG) registration process, candidates will have to fill the below-mentioned details.

  • Candidate's Name
  • Mother's Name
  • Father's Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • State of Eligibility
  • Category
  • Person with Disabilities
  • Identification Type
  • Identification Number
  • Residential Address
  • Mobile Number
  • Email ID
  • Password
  • Security Pin (as displayed on the screen)

Once all the details are filled, verify them, tick all the checkboxes, then click on the ‘Submit and Send OTP’.

Enter the OTP sent on the email address and the registration is done.

After registration for CUET (UG) 2024, an Application Number will be generated and sent to the candidate's email address. 

Step 2: Application Form

Once the registration process is completed, candidates will have to login using the Application Number and password as seen in the image below. 

Complete the form by filling out personal details, selecting the question paper medium and examination cities, and providing information on educational qualifications.

Step 3: Uploading of Scanned Documents and Images

After filling the details in the application form of CUET (UG) 2024, candidates will have to upload scanned copies of the photograph and signature as specified.

Step 4: Fee Payment

Once Steps 1, 2, and 3 are done, candidates need to pay the examination fee. This fee is payable exclusively online through options like Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. It includes processing fees and GST, if applicable. The examination fee is processed by the respective bank/payment gateway integrator. The Confirmation Page for the Application Form becomes accessible only after the candidate's successful payment.

  • If the Confirmation Page doesn't appear post-payment, candidates should reach out to the bank/payment gateway for assistance. Contact details are provided in the Information Bulletin for queries or refund requests regarding duplicate/multiple payments.
  • Remember to save and print the Confirmation Page of the Application Form after successful fee payment for future reference.
  • All four steps can be completed simultaneously or separately. After submitting an application, a candidate's candidature will be confirmed once the application fee is received.
