Embarking on a new year often triggers reflections on the challenges that lie ahead, particularly for students gearing up for crucial examinations.
As the clock resets, the question lingers:
How can one master the inevitable stress that accompanies exams?
In a groundbreaking move, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) once again steps into the limelight with its annual Psychological Counselling Program, set to kick off on January 1, 2024.
The CBSE's Psychological Counselling Program is a beacon of support, prioritizing the mental well-being of students as they gear up for crucial examinations. With a legacy spanning 26 years, CBSE stands as a trailblazer in ensuring stress-free exam experiences for Class X and XII students.
Before delving into the facilities that CBSE's Psychological Counselling Program provides, let's first explore the background. Since 1998, CBSE has been at the forefront of psychological counselling initiatives, offering support in two phases – before examinations and after results. This longstanding commitment underscores CBSE's dedication to creating a stress-free environment for its affiliated schools.
CBSE's Psychological Counselling Initiatives encompass various supportive measures for students facing the challenges of exam stress. These include:
The toll-free IVRS service (1800-11-8004) operates 24x7, offering invaluable insights into stress-free preparation, time and stress management, FAQs, and essential CBSE contact details, available in both Hindi and English.
CBSE's bilingual podcasts, accessible on the official website (www.cbse.gov.in), cover a spectrum of subjects, providing an auditory learning experience for students.
A voluntary and free service available from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm (Monday to Saturday), featuring a team of 65 trained professionals, including principals, counsellors, special educators, and psychologists. This year, 13 counsellors extend support internationally in Kuwait, Nepal, Japan, Doha-Qatar, Oman (Muscat), and the United Arab Emirates (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras-al-Khaimah).
CBSE's commitment to student mental health is reflected in its innovative use of technology, including toll-free tele-counselling and IVRS. Active engagement on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram ensures that students receive timely and relevant information.
CBSE doesn't just stop at traditional counselling methods. The board actively utilizes YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram to disseminate crucial messages. Audio-visual content covers a range of topics, from Youth Experiences and Aggression to Internet Addiction Disorder and Examination Stress, providing a holistic approach to student well-being.
In conclusion, CBSE's Psychological Counselling Initiatives form a robust support system, ensuring that students and parents are equipped with the tools to navigate exam stress successfully. As we embark on the examination season, let's make the most of these resources for a stress-free and successful academic journey.
